What is a Newel Cap?

A chrome newel cap sits on a newel post as a decorative finish to your staircase. Newel posts are posts that are usually placed at the top and bottom of a flight of stairs. Newel posts are a structural part of the staircase and are used to support the bannister. Newel caps are completely optional and are not required for the structural benefit of the stairs.

Caps come in a variety of different designs, finishes and materials. Choose between a flat cap, pyramid caps, ball caps, acorn caps and more! We sell these in oak, pine or white painted. This is the only cap we sell in a chrome finish, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Our Scala Cap

This superb chrome die-cast newel cap really compliments your stairs and creates a striking modern look. They have been designed to fit any 90 x 90mm newel post and feature a curved top face and a subtle Scala logo in one corner. Whichever timber your stairs are made from, our caps will compliment them. However, they look particularly striking with oak or pine.

We have these caps made to our design using our own high-pressure die casting tooling (HPDC). HPDC produces a product with a crisp well-defined finish compared to the more commonly sold sand cast items. This translates through into the quality of the chrome finish to give an excellent quality heavyweight product.

Chrome Newel Cap: Dimensions

The dimensions are 85mm x 42.5mm x 131mm for the chrome newel cap. Unfortunately we do not sell these in a half version, but the cap can be cut down the middle to serve the purpose of a half newel cap if needed.

Chrome Newel Cap Seconds Sales Policy

We currently have items that don’t quite meet our quality control standard or that are being discontinued.  Rather than scrap these we choose instead to offer them at a reduced prices as “seconds”.

The item will be as described, however it will not be a perfect product – the items can contain small marks, blemishes, dints, scratches, colour variation, etc. On most occasions, these should be able to sand out. The intended use of the item will not be affected, the defects are cosmetic only.

If you want a perfect unblemished and unmarked product, do not buy this item. Please note that we do not offer refunds on these items for obvious reasons.  Please be aware of this when purchasing.
