What is a Newel Cap?

A ball newel cap sits on a newel post as a decorative finish to your staircase. Newel posts are posts that are usually placed at the top and bottom of a flight of stairs. Newel posts are a structural part of the staircase and are used to support the bannister. Newel caps are completely optional and are not required for the structural benefit of the stairs.

Caps come in a variety of different designs, finishes and materials. Choose between a flat cap, pyramid caps, ball caps, acorn caps and more! We sell these in oak, pine or white painted.

Ball Newel Cap Design

These beautiful ball oak newel caps are available in a half cap only.  They are elegantly turned wooden ball newel caps machined to a high standard and individually boxed for protection.

Made using American white oak or New Zealand pine, they are designed to suit most styles of newel posts. We sand and individually box each cap ensuring every cap is perfect.. This tracked service means you will get full information about the status of your order from dispatch to delivery. You are of course welcome to collect them instead from our friendly sales counter in Sheffield. We are open normal office hours Monday to Friday.

Timbers

The oak caps are made from American white oak and will appear lighter in colour before they are treated. Our lacquered oak caps are fully treated and are ready for fitting. Please note, the images are of unfinished caps, these are finished in a clear lacquer so may be a slightly warmer colour, and also shinier than in the picture.

Ball Newel Cap: Dimensions

The dimensions are 85mm x 42.5mm x 131mm for the half newel cap. Unfortunately we do not currntly offer a custom service for our stair parts.

If you want a perfect unblemished and unmarked product, do not buy this item. Please note that we do not offer refunds on these items for obvious reasons.  Please be aware of this when purchasing.

Ball Newel Cap Delivery

If you choose to order these caps, we keep them in stock and will despatch them immediately. We will use Royal Mail to deliver your item on a 1-2 day service. For further information please feel free to contact us.

If ordered with a newel post, we will send your newel cap together with the post with a haulier. Orders that goes with heavy item couriers are arranged with the customer before being dispatched from our warehouse.
