What are oak newel posts?

Stair posts are also known as newel posts and serve a structural purpose in a stair case. They are often located at the top and bottom of a staircase, and usually against the wall at the end of a landing. They are designed to support the bannister system, by connecting to the stair’s handrail and base rail.

Newel posts are usually finished off by using a newel cap. We offer newel caps in a variety of styles, timbers and finishes to suit every style.

Our Oak Newel Posts

We use prime grade white oak in the manufacture of these newels. At Heritage, our specialist staff mould the posts to an excellent finish with 2mm radiused edges for ease of finishing. We also have a range of caps available, please see our other listings.

Oak Newel Posts: Dimensions

1500mm x 90 x 45 – The 1500mm newel in a half newel format for installing against the wall. Normally used at the end of the landing to neatly finish a handrail against the wall.

We don’t currently offer custom sizes stair parts as this is a discontinued range. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! So grab a bargain fast.

Oak Newel Posts Seconds Sales Policy

We currently have items that don’t quite meet our quality control standard or that are being discontinued.  Rather than scrap these we choose instead to offer them at a reduced prices as “seconds”.

The item will be as described, however it will not be a perfect product – the items can contain small marks, blemishes, dints, scratches, colour variation, etc. On most occasions, these should be able to sand out. The intended use of the item will not be affected, the defects are cosmetic only.

If you want a perfect unblemished and unmarked product, do not buy this item. Please note that we do not offer refunds on these items for obvious reasons.  Please be aware of this when purchasing.

If you choose to order these posts, we keep them in stock and will despatch them immediately. We will use DX Delivery to deliver your item on a 1-2 day service. For further information please feel free to contact us.

Before we dispatch your item, you will be contacted by our sales team to arrange a delivery date that suits you. Our delivery days are Monday-Friday between 8am-6pm.
