Our UK made frames are perfect for classic properties such as cottages, barn conversions and even old Victorian homes. However, for more modern properties, we suggest pairing these with a contemporary door from our stunning modern range.

External Door Frame Grading

These external door frames are made using a high grade of oak. The timber will be mostly clear with some small knots which serves to highlight the solid oak nature of your new door frame.
It is not always possible to buy oak in the fixed lengths that we supply the door linings in. To get around this we will often start with lengths of oak at around 1.0 – 1.5 metres long, and finger joint these together to get the correct overall length needed.

Select Grade

The universal fit oak door frames are made using generous section sizes of a select grade of oak and are a perfect way to install a good quality solid oak door. Once sealed for external use, this will provide a fabulous quality long lasting door frame. You can use these wonderful frames with any of our external doors.

External Door Frame – What’s included?

Single External Door Frame Kit Contains;

1 Cill: 40 x 130 x 1050mm – (2 part laminated from solid oak sections), machined with drip groove to underside
2 Frame Legs: 40 x 100 x 2100mm Each (2 part laminated from solid oak sections)
1 Frame Head: 40 x 100 x 1050mm (2 part laminated from solid oak sections)
2 Stops Lats: 40 x 20 x 2100mm (grooved to accept supplied weather stripping)
1 Stops Lats 40 x 20 x 1050mm (grooved to accept supplied weather stripping)
2 Weather stripping for stop lats: 2100 and 1 x 1050mm

External Door Frame Finish

All you will need to finish your door frame is fixings suited to your wall construction and also a threshold seal of your choice such as a Stormguard.  We supply the door frames unfinished so you can pre finish to your desired colour on site. They come complete with a sealing strip to fit into the loose stop lats.

This standard product will suit all external doors up to 2060mm high x 960mm wide x 50mm deep. The lining can adjust to any dimension up to these, including door thickness. We also offer a double frame for double door sets.

External Door Frame Delivery

We use DX to deliver these items direct to your property. Before the item is dispatched from our Sheffield warehouse, we will call you to arrange a delivery date that suits you. Our delivery days are Monday-Friday between 8am-6pm. If you’re not ready to accept your items yet, no problem! We can hold these for you as long as you need, just let us know when you are ready to accept them.

Our large items are wrapped in cardboard and then banded for extra support. If there is any damage to the external packaging once received, please sign the POD as damaged with the driver.
