Description

This is a universal fit oak double door frame designed to suit much wider, or double doors.  Therefore, the frame will fit any door or door pair up to 2060mm high x 2000mm wide x 50mm deep.  Note this is the door size, not the opening size.

Double Door Frame Manufacture

We make the oak double door frame in the UK using generous section sizes of a select grade of oak.  They are a perfect way to install a good quality solid oak door. The timber will be mostly clear with small knots. Then,  when sealed will provide a fabulous quality long lasting door frame.

All of the frames major components are laminated from 2 sections of solid oak, which gives great resistance to warping.  We use European oak as this tends to perform better in exterior joinery applications than American oak and both look extremely similar.

What will I need to build the double door frame?

All you will need is frame fixings suited to your wall construction. You will also need a threshold seal of your choice such as a Stormguard that suits your door and application. We recommend that your door is fitted with a weather bar to shed water over the cill.  The cill measures 130mm deep and machined with a drip groove and chamfer to the front edge to better shed water.

Finish

We supply the door frames unfinished so you can pre-finish to your desired colour on-site.  The frame comes complete with a high quality Acquamac sealing strip to fit into the loose stop lats on the frame legs and the frame head.

The frame is supplied with loose stop lats.  These can therefore be positioned once the door is hinged which allows the frame to accept any door thickness up to 58mm.  The stop lats are groove to accept an Acquamac weather seal which is supplied with the door.

Each double door frame contains;

Cill – 40 x 130 x 2100 – 1no (2 part laminated from solid oak sections), machined with a drip groove to the underside
Frame Legs – 40 x 100 x 2100 x 2no (2 part laminated from solid oak sections)
Frame Head – 40 x 100 x 2100 – 1no (2 part laminated from solid oak sections)
Stops Lats for Legs – 40 x 20 x 2100 – 2no (grooved to accept supplied weather stripping)
Stops Lat for Head – 40 x 20 x 2100 – 1no (grooved to accept supplied weather stripping)
Weatherstripping 3 x 2100

Double Door Frame Delivery

We use DX to deliver these items direct to your property. Before the item is dispatched from our Sheffield warehouse, we will call you to arrange a delivery date that suits you. Our delivery days are Monday-Friday between 8am-6pm. If you’re not ready to accept your items yet, no problem! We can hold these for you as long as you need, just let us know when you are ready to accept them.

Our large items are wrapped in cardboard and then banded for extra support. If there is any damage to the external packaging once received, please sign the POD as damaged with the driver.
