Guarantees are offered based on correct installation, finishing and maintenance procedures. Guarantees may be withdrawn where appropriate in instances where correct procedures have not been followed.
Doors must be fitted in an appropriate location. For coastal or areas where high wind load/wind driven rain are expected, Accoya should be fitted. In adverse locations, solid timber doors can degrade at an accelerated rate. this is not a manufacturing defect. Oak doors should always be fitted under a porch or canopy that prevents regular exposure to rain. Where this is not possible then Accoya should always be specified and fitted.
Solid oak doors that are supplied unfinished are not covered under our guarantee.
Even with thorough finishing, timber doors can often require minor planing in the first couple of seasons. You should always follow a good maintenance programme with solid exterior doors, refinishing them as necessary.
All doors should be washed down a minimum of twice a year with a mild solution of soapy water and rinsed off with clean water to remove any surface debris. This should be increased to a minimum four times a year in coastal/ high wind load environments.
Once cleaned the door and frame should be carefully inspected. It is vital that any areas where the finish has been damaged are repaired as they are found, at least annually. Once repaired, the door should be refinished.

Engineered Oak
44mm Thick
Our engineered oak door is our most competitively priced door and also meets the requirements of UK Building Regulations Part L.
The door has an overall U value of 1.0 w/M2K. A specific value can be provided where the customer chooses the doorset option but in almost all cases would pass the required 1.4w/M2k.
The door is manufactured with a hardwood cross laminated core, with oak veneer face and oak lippings.
Perfect for either painting or staining.
Made to any size up to 950 x 2100mm.
We strongly recommend you specify the door a few mm oversize, and plane the door on site to suit unless you are absolutely sure that the door frame is 100% square. They rarely are!
Your new oak door is custom made at 44mm thick, and cannot be returned/refunded once manufactured so please consider these measurements carefully. We will confirm them back to you once you have let us know in an order confirmation so we both have a clear understanding of the size required
Unfortunately we do not guarantee unfinished doors. Select our stunning multi stage finish for a 10 year guarantee.
If you choose to have your 1930s exterior door unfinished, when you receive the door it should be checked for fit. We cannot overstate how important it is to properly finish timber external doors to provide satisfactory service.
