Oak Timber Manufacture

Oak Timber (or PSE) is a great product for use in various construction projects. We have taken a good grade of European oak and machined it to a smooth and straight finish.  This is an excellent product for shield fabrication of general joinery use.

Oak Timber Grading

Heritage manufactures all of our oak timber/PSE at our Sheffield factory. We usually keep large stocks of PSE so we can normally ship to you very quickly or you can collect from our warehouse if you prefer.

Each piece is selected to ensure that it is an appropriate grade. Most of the board will be clear, with occasional knots (its simply not possible for us to buy raw material with no knots!)

Oak Timber Terminology

You will hear this product called PSE which stands for planed, square edge.  Essentially it means a sawn oak board is put through a moulder, and all 4 sides are planed smooth. We mould this in our factory in Sheffield.

Oak Timber Sizing

20mm thick Oak PSE (Planed Square Edged) timber available in a range of widths, in set lengths of 8ft/2.4m. Also, widths ranging from 40 – 205mm wide, all the PSE is 20mm thick.

Sawn Oak

If you prefer to buy your oak rough sawn for your own planing or sanding, then see our other listing for sawn oak boards. The sawn oak is available per board, per pack or per pallet. Please feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements. The oak is sourced from France and is specially kiln dried to a low moisture content before it arrives with us. This kills anything live in the timber and ensures it is suitable for use in the home.

Solid Oak Timber – Delivery

Our sales team will contact you as soon as your order is ready to arrange a delivery date that is most suitable with yourself. We use DX Delivery to deliver all of our large items and door products, or The Pallet Network for larger orders with multiple doors.

Our transit time is 1-2 working days and each product is sufficiently packaged by our efficient warehouse team.

We ask that all deliveries are checked for damage, missing items or any problems within 24 hours of receipt. This will ensure our team can deal with the problem as quick and effectively as possible.
