What are stringers in stairs?

A stair stringer is the solid section that appears on either side of a flight of stairs. These are part of the structure of your staircase and are often made to match the steps and banister of the staircase it belongs to.

Oak String Veneer Sizing

The Oak String Veneer is supplied in a 285mm x 4200mm roll to suit staircases of all shapes and sizes.

Oak String Veneer Design

The Oak Veneer is fleece-backed for strength and flexibility. It is also pre-glued with a hot melt adhesive which means it is easily applied by using a hot iron.  The veneer is very thin and strong so be cut to shape using sharp scissors with little effort.

We supply this product unfinished which allows the end-user to finish the product how they like.  The oak string veneer can be finished using:

• Oils
• Waxes
• Paints
• Varnish
• Lacquer

We have this product especially made for us in Germany to extremely high-quality standards.  This oak veneer has many other uses from over veneering doors, worktops, walls, and staircase risers. In fact, we’ve heard of many other uses from our customers – including using this for oak stringers on the inside of the staircase.
