Solid oak scotia beading is the perfect finishing touch for any property. It can be stained in a natural oil to keep its natural colour and grain for properties which are more traditional. Alternatively the lengths can be painted to match an existing flooring/skirting. The opportunities with this product are endless!

Why is scotia beading important?

When flooring is fitted, an expansion gap must be left around the perimeter of the room, especially with timber flooring. This is to allow the natural timber to expand and contract as it takes on heat and moisture, without warping and possibly damaging your walls. Scotia beading allows you to cover the expansion gap with a decorative trim, finishing of a room nicely. In a lot of instances, this beading also offers a finishing touch – it hides away any loose gaps and the edges of your flooring.

Scotia Bead Sizing

Our Heritage scotia beading is sold in lengths of 1981mm with a superb profile section of 18mm x 18mm. The beading can be applied either by nailing along the lengths for a sturdier hold, or by using an adhesive for a more clean look. We recommend a wax based oil to treat the timber before installing. The beading is made from 100% solid European oak timber so can be cut down to size on site with no problems.

Scotia Bead Seconds Sales Policy

We currently have items in our stock that do not quite meet our quality control standard or that are being discontinued.  Rather than scrap these, we choose instead to offer them at a reduced prices as “seconds”.

This particular item is a discontinued product, Heritage have moved away from timber trims and are focusing primarily on doors, flooring and stair cladding.

The item will be as described, however it will not be a perfect product – the items can contain small marks, blemishes, dints, scratches, colour variation, etc. On most occasions, these should be able to sand out. The intended use of the item will not be affected, the defects are cosmetic only.

If you want a perfect unblemished and unmarked product, do not buy this item. Please note that we do not offer refunds on these items for obvious reasons.  Please be aware of this when purchasing and look at the images supplied carefully.
