Our Solid Oak Architrave samples are a great way to help you make up your mind about whether that product works for you.

Architrave Samples

At Heritage we want you to be happy with the products before you order them, particularly as many of the lines are custom-made.  Finishes, in particular, are useful to see in person, as they can look slightly different from the internet or brochures images.  We have a showroom in Sheffield where you can see large sample boards of all of our finishes, however, if it is not convenient to visit us, then samples are the answer.

Our sample service helps you to choose what is going to work for you.  We currently charge £7.50 for our samples, however, if you like your sample and wish to move on to a product order, your sample pack will receive a special code that will discount the order by £7.50.

Architrave Samples – Oak Timber

Oak architrave sets are manufactured from a select grade of oak. The timber will be mostly clear, with the odd few knots. This means these architrave sets will blend well with either our rustic or prime oak doors. It is not always possible to buy oak in the fixed lengths that we supply the architrave sets in. To get around this we may need on occasion to finger joint shorter lengths together although we avoid this where we can.

Moisture Content

All of our oak timber is sourced from Europe and is kiln dried to a 8-10% moisture content. Knots will be seen in the timber up to 50mm in diameter and up to 10mm deep. We may use filler on the architrave sets for knots which exceed the 10mm depth.

Oak is a long lasting wood and is a truly stunning timber for oak furniture. With it’s characterful grain, it gives a warm, natural look to your room. Oak is very resistant to wearing over time and is very easy to stain, paint or varnish.

Architrave Samples – Profiles

You can choose from one of 3 popular profiles; chamfer, bullnose (or pencil round as its sometimes called) and Torus. Our sets are also available in single or double doorway widths making this product the perfect door accessory!

Architrave Samples – Sizing

Each door architrave set of consists of 2 uprights at 2.1m and 1 head. Single doorway kits have the head at 1.1m and with double doorway kits the head is 2.1m.

The mouldings are finished at 69mm wide and are a generous 20mm thick. Each set is enough to do one side of each door. By supplying as sets, you do not get the wastage you often get when buying random length architrave sold by the metre. For other door accessories, check out our matching door linings.
