WHAT DOORS ARE THE PEWTER T HINGE DESIGNED TO WORK IN CONNECTION WITH?

The 18″ Pewter T Hinge is perfectly suitable for our oak or pine ledged doors and above all, really set the look of the door off.  The pewter t hinges are manufactured from a heavy grade of steel, before being aged and then finished in a hammered pewter finish.  These are a beautiful hinge and offer a classic look to any interior door you choose. Pewter is an antique-style shade of silver-grey and is an alloy of tin and copper.

Our pewter hardware is most commonly sold in our door packs along with a pewter thumb latch kit. For each door, we recommend 2 hinges. While with a stable door, 4 hinges are suggested (2 per leaf).

Our 12″ hinges are perfect for bifold doors or cupboard doors.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE A T HINGE TO INSTALL MY DOORS?

The 18″ Pewter T Hinge is specifically designed to cope with the weight of our solid oak doors.   Rather than the normal single barrel construction, we upgraded the hinges to a twin barrel design.  The result is an immensely strong hinge that will not sag over time even under the weight of oak doors.

The hinges will work perfectly fine with the pine doors as the pine doors are not as heavy as the solid oak doors. Pine doors are around 20–25kg while our oak doors are 30-35kg The installation of each door is exactly the same. We recommend fitting the hinges to the top and bottom ledge where the door is at its thickest.

IS THE PEWTER T HINGE SUPPLIED WITH THE SCREWS?

Yes, all the screws needed to fit the hinges are included in a matching pewter slotted dome head in a good thick screw gauge. We believe that these are the best quality hand forged hinges for ledged doors on the market today. Options

The hinges are available in a full kit which does include 2 x 18″ t hinges and Suffolk latch set.  If you would like to purchase the full kit instead of the single hinge, please click here. The hinges and sets are also available in a beeswax finish if you would prefer a different colour.  You can find these located in our hardware section of the website along with butt hinges and a range of handles to choose from. We offer options suitable for every home and door style!

Delivery

We use Royal Mail to dispatch small items on  48 hour service.
