Quality Oak Rustic Flooring – 100% Solid!

As you can tell by our name, Heritage Doors & Floors Ltd specialise in the most popular solid oak products – flooring being one of our most imperative, key ranges.

Our cutting edge oak rustic flooring is manufactured on site here in Sheffield and made from the best quality timber. Our professional team hand select the oak to find the most quality boards to offer our customers.

Our raw timber is sourced from France and goes through a special kiln drying process to ensure the moisture content is low enough to be used without warping or twisting. Our timber is also responsibly sourced and is all PEFC certified.

What sizes can I get my Solid Oak Rustic Flooring in?

Our floor boards are all in a standard 20mm thickness, coming in random lengths between 1.2-2.4m. You can choose between any of our 3 different widths:

  • 139mm (ex 6″)
  • 168mm (ex 7″)

Oak Rustic Flooring – Will there be a lot of character in my timber?

Solid Oak is well known for its character and its natural beauty, which soars above any other wood flooring. In addition to this, our rustic grade will contain knots, variation and other features creating a very warm and inviting look to your home. However, we are aware this look is not for everyone; therefore we also offer an engineered range of flooring, which offers mainly clear boards with the occasional knot to create a clean and subtle look for your room space. For examples, check out our Facebook page!

How is it fitted?

This oak rustic flooring is very straight forward to fit and can be done in 1 of 2 ways:

  • You can secret nail to the sub floor by using our tongue tite screws. This is usually the preferred method if you fit directly onto joists or have an existing timber floor.
  • Alternatively, simply use glue to bond the boards to the floor. This method can be used when installing to existing timber/sheet material subfloor.

Remember, as this is solid oak, these boards will expand and contract. Therefore, an expansion gap must be left around the room, we recommend 15mm for this. Scotia beading is an ideal product to cover this gap and gives an excellent finish to your floor. Moreover, please allow the flooring to acclimatize before fitting.

If you require any more information at all, or have a burning question about our flooring, please feel free to call our friendly sales team on 01142474917.

Will I Need to Treat The Flooring?

We sell a range of accessories to help with your flooring installation! Our flooring is sold as unfinished only, so you will need to treat the oak once received. We recommend using Treatex Hardwax Oil for this as it is easy to apply, specifically designed for timber and durable.
