Solid Oak Flooring: -
Heritage Doors & Floors LTD supply three different grades of oak flooring. Tavern oak boards, Rustic oak boards & Prime Solid Oak boards. This traditional unfinished hardwood flooring is long length oak and the oak floor is supplied natural/unfinished. We sell a number of oils & waxes (Osmo & Saicos) on the accessories page to finish off your solid oak job professionally.
Tavern Grade Solid Oak Flooring
The Tavern Grade American White Oak Flooring is suitable for the older property, the oak planks include small and large knots, cracked knots, colour variation, splits and grub worm holes. The oak character in these oak planks can be filled by the customer if preferred. The tavern grade hardwood floor when complete looks warm and inviting in rustic pubs, log cabins, old barns, church halls etc.
The tavern grade wooden flooring is available in 6" wide oak planks and the lengths are between 2m - 4.3m.
Rustic Grade Solid Oak Flooring
The Rustic Grade American White Oak Flooring may contain a variation of knots. Some of the unfinished oak boards may contain knots which are quite small, while other oak boards may contain larger knots which may require some filling. The overall colour of the rustic oak floor boards is a warm brown but light sapwood and some mineral colours are allowed.

Prime Grade Solid Oak Flooring
The prime grade American White Oak Flooring shows a faint natural grain pattern and very few small knots. The colour in the prime grade oak floor is a warm brown, less mineral colours are allowed. Prime oak planks may conatin a few thumb nail size knots, whilst other prime oak boards are clear. The overall effect shows a warm pleasing colour with natural close grain patterns. The solid oak planks are supplied natural/unfinished. The prime grade timber is available in 4",5",6",7",8" and 9". The Heritage Range supply solid long length hardwood floors from 2.1m - 4.6m. If you have purchased or are purchasing the Heritage Solid Oak Flooring, these tables will finish your oak room off perfectly.
Internal & external Oak Frames
Heritage Doors & Floors LTD supply solid oak interior & exterior door frames. The oak used for the oak frames is American White Oak. The external oak frames are available with or without a cil. The oak door frames are supplied natural/unfinished. An oak internal door frame consits of door linings - 2 uprights and 1 head. Door stops are supplied loose for fitting once the door is hung. Oak external doors are supplied with grooved stop lats for weather strips. Stop lats are also supplied loose with the oak external doors.

Rustic Oak Grade: -
Some oak boards may contain a few small knots, while other oak baords may contain larger rustic knots, which may require some filling. The overall colour of the rustic oak grade is a warm brown but light sapwood and some mineral colour are allowed.
The oak boards may contain some or all of the following features:-
Small and large knots, cracked knots, burrs, colour variation, an occasional crack and smallish holes. Some filling may be necessary. The overall effect shows a pleasing scattering of knots and a little colour variation.
Prime Oak Grade:-
The prime oak grade boards show faint natural grain patterns and very few knots. The colour of the prime grade is a warm brown less mineral colour is allowed. The oak boards contain few small thumb nail size knots while some boards are clear. The overall effect shows the oak as a warm pleasing colour with natural close grain patterns.
Ash Flooring
Northern White Ash/Glacial White Ash
The Ash Tree is commonly found growing throughout the USA from east of the Mississippi river, and down into the southern states, throughout the Appalachian mountain ranges and the Eastern USA and up into Canada. The wood from the Ash tree has an open grain pattern, it machines and finished beautifully leaving a smooth ash finish. There is a distinct colour difference between the lighter white coloured sapwood and the browner coloured heartwood. It is widely used for making sports equipement such as hockey sticks and baseball bats, its also used for tool handles as well as for shop fitting work, display cabinets and joinery. The bright whiteness of the white sapwppd tends to improve when the trees are grown and haversted further north and closer to the Arctic circle. When the Ash tree grows further south the colour and grain pattern tends to be less defined and 'smoother' in texture.
Ash is relatively hydroscopic wood with an open cell structure and it reacts and expands quite considerably when it comes into contact with moisture and humidity.
Ash flooring not recommended for flooring in damp areas or where it could come into contact with moisture such as bathrooms.
Solid Ash Flooring is available in 4",5",6",7" and 8". The flooring is available in 7-8ft lengths.

Walnut Flooring
Walnut has regained popularity over recent years and is being specified and used by designers and architects for use in modern 'high end' commercial and residential projects in conjunction with metal and stainless steel, leather and glass designs to give a very clean but contrasting 'new' look. The walnut tree is a fruit tree and produces walnuts and prefers to grow in open areas rather than canopy forest. The walnut trees grow well in the richer soil which can be found to the west of the Appalachian Mountains and into states which boarder the Mississippi valley, commonly known as the Midwest. Walnut trees only represent around 10% of the makeup of tree species in the USA and relatively scarcity of the species in combination with a growing demand and has led to a dramatic increase in price over recent years. At its peak in 2005-2006 American Black walnut was the most expensive forest product available from the USA.
The dark coloured hearwood of the walnut is a dark chocolate brown to deep brown/purple colour. The lighter coloured sapwood is almost cream white in colour when the log is fresh sawn. So a darken the colour of the lighter coloured sapwood, fresh sawn walnut timber goes through a steaming process, this helps to blend the colours and also helps to relieve the stress in the walnut wood.
The walnut timber has a nice grain pattern and machines and finished very well.
In comparrison to species such as Maple or Oak, walnut is relatievly soft hardwood and will mark and score. Walnut is recommended for use in a high traffic area such as sports halls or dance studio's.
Heritage Range Walnut wood flooring is in traditional long lengths. The walnut hardwood floor is delivered as traditional long lengths. The walnut wooden flooring will be delivered as shown in the picture below, so be prepared as the walnut flooring is not on a small pallet and not pre-boxed.
American Red Cherry Flooring
The American Red Cherry flooring is often referred to as the “King of Trees” the heartwood wood from American Black Cherry tree is a beautiful warm red colour which will gradually darken with age to a deep rich colour. The lighter colored Sapwood is slightly red to creamy orange in colour.
The Red Cherry timber has a tight grain and machines and finished very well. Again, like Maple it is a relatively hydroscopic wood with an open cell structure and it reacts and expands quite considerably when it comes into contact with moisture and humidity.
The Red Cherry in comparison to species such as Maple and Oak, Cherry is relatively soft hardwood and will mark and score. The American Red Cherry is not recommended for use in a high traffic area such as sports halls or dance studios.
The Bark of the cherry Tree is used to flavor soft drinks such as “Cherry Cola” and is also used in the flavoring of confectionary items and to add flavor and colour in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.

Maple Flooring
Canadian Hard Maple also know as “Rock Maple” or “Sugar Maple”
The Hard Maple tree is commonly found growing in American Appalachian mountain ranges and the Eastern USA and up into eastern provinces of Canada. The wood from the Hard Maple tree is relatively dense and hard with a tight grain pattern; it machines and finishes beautifully leaving a very smooth finish. The lighter white coloured Sapwood tends to be favoured to the browner coloured heartwood for high value kitchen cabinets and joinery . The bright whiteness of the White Sapwood tends to improve when the trees are grown and harvested further north and closer to the Arctic Circle and for this reason the Canadian Hard Maple is often preferred and specified by architects and designers due to the consistency of “Paper White” light colour and the tight grain formation.
Maple is a relatively hydroscopic wood with an open cell structure and it reacts and expands quite considerably when it comes into contact with moisture and humidity. Not recommended for flooring in damp areas or where it could come into contact with moisture such as bathrooms.
Because of its high density, Maple is often used for flooring in “High Traffic” areas such as sports halls, squash courts, indoor cycle tracks and dance halls as it is very resistant to marking and wear.
The Hard Maple tree produces a sweet sugary sap which is tapped from the tree during early spring and boiled down and reduced to make sweet Maple Syrup – hence the name “Sugar Maple”

Heritage do a range of engineered skirting, architrave and frames. These products come in a number of different styles and moulds for you to choose from. These products are made out of MDF and Veneers. You can purchase the skirting and architrave in either a sanded, trimmed or pre-finished. The lengths that are available come with no finger joints. We have a range of door frames that are available which are 30minute fire rated.
Interior Engineered Oak Doors
Heritage Doors and Floors LTD supply a 3 different designs of Engineered Interior Oak Doors. The engineered internal oak doors are made from veeners and MDF. Below are the doors and details of the doors that we supply.
Mexicana Oak Internal
Solidly constructed with a strong linear design. The Mexicana Engineered oak internal door lends itself to both contemporary and traditional styles. Finish with satin nickel or brass door furniture to determine which look shuits your home best.
4 Panel Oak Bolection Mouldings
A timeless classic. This 4 panel oak belection engineered oak internal door is a manufactured using the finest white oak veneers over MDF core panels. 4" stiles and solid oak bolection mouldings provide authentic proportions to ensure these doors are at home in both traditional and contemporary surroundings.
4 Panel Oak Glazed
A range in its own right or as a companion door to the 4 panel engineered oak itnernal door. Using the same oak veneer and proportions as the 4 panel solid door with the added benefit of 2 clear bevelled glass panes to allow light to flood into the darkest of rooms. To make life that little bit easier it comes pre glazed to save time on site.
