Oak & Chrome Wall Mounted Handrails add a stylish touch to your stairs, whilst being a very practical aid and safety feature. The chrome essence adds a modern twist to a traditional style handrail. Kits are supplied complete with wall mounted handrail brackets and end caps to finish off the handrail neatly and professionally.
The Traditional handrail is 59mm wide x 56mm high. This includes a flat section machined to the underside to help you fit the brackets
Fittings in this Oak & Chrome Kit are supplied in a chrome finish, creating a bright and eye-catching look. We also provide the screws to fit the brackets to the handrail. You will need to provide screws to fix to the wall. These will be dependant on the wall construction you have.
What do you get in the kit?
Handrail – We make this ourselves on-site, to a very high standard. We use a prime grade of American white oak, correctly kiln-dried for reliable use inside the home. We are rare in that we only use full lengths of oak, we don’t joint shorter lengths together so you get a great looking rail. Our specialist staff use the more expensive process of laminating three pieces together, top and bottom. This gives a much more stable and strong handrail than the cheaper common method of molding from a single piece of oak. We then carefully machine each rail to a generous 59mm wide by 56mm high.
End Caps – Each rail comes complete with 2 end caps in a choice of chrome or brushed nickel. The caps are our own design and have a discreet Heritage logo cast in. They are made using the high-pressure die-cast process, which means you get a really nice crisp looking product. This is much better than the cheap sand cast items commonly available. Our suppliers finish and plate each cap for long service life and a great looking finish.
Wall Brackets – Each rail comes with the appropriate number of wall-mounted brackets. These are a good-sized strong bracket and you can choose from chrome-plated or a brushed nickel finish to match in with the end caps.
Oak handrails are manufactured using kiln dried white oak. We use a good grade of joinery oak. The timber will be mainly clear, with the occasional knot which serves to highlight the solid oak nature of the timber. In order to get the long lengths needed for handrails, we joint lengths of solid oak. We use good lengths of oak, finger jointed together in house so that we can manage the quality of the jointing. Typically you will get a joint on average every 900mm although this can vary

Oak handrails are supplied machined to a smooth surface finish and supplied bare ready for you to prefinish on site. When oak is machined you can sometimes get slight lifting of the grain in small areas, particlarly where the grain varies such as around knots. This can be easily sanded smooth prior to applying a finish and is normal for this timber.
