Oak wall mounted handrails add a stylish touch to your stairs, whilst being a very practical aid and safety feature. Kits are supplied complete with wall mounted handrail brackets and end caps to finish off the handrail neatly and professionally.
The Traditional handrail is 59mm wide x 56mm high and includes a flat section machined to the underside to help you fit the brackets
Fittings in this kit are supplied in a chrome finish, creating a bright and eye catching look. Screws are provided to fit the brackets to the handrail. You will need to provide screws to fix to the wall as these will be dependant on the wall construction you have.
Oak handrails are manufactured using kiln dried white oak. We use a good grade of joinery oak. The timber will be mainly clear, with the occasional knot which serves to highlight the solid oak nature of the timber.
In order to get the long lengths needed for handrails, we joint lengths of solid oak. We use good lengths of oak, finger jointed together in house so that we can manage the quality of the jointing. Typically you will get a joint on average every 900mm although this can vary
Standard and Custom Sizes
Handrails are manufactured in 2 lengths;
3.6 metre (approx 12 foot)
4.2 metre (approx 14 foot)
Traditional Profile - 59mm wide x 56mm high
Oak handrails are supplied machined to a smooth surface finish and supplied bare ready for you to prefinish on site.
When oak is machined you can sometimes get slight lifting of the grain in small areas, particlarly where the grain varies such as around knots. This can be easily sanded smooth prior to applying a finish and is normal for this timber.
Handrail kits will normally be delivered to you with a specialist parcel courier due to their length. Typically we use overnight couriers for this product to allow us to agree a day of delivery with the customer
We package the handrail in custom made cardboard carton. Often the fittings can be shipped seperately for insurance purposes both both elements of the kit should arrive on the same day.
