ITEMS SUPPLIED IN THE PINE LOOSE BRACING PACK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: –
The pine loose bracing pack includes:
2 x 1.1m lengths which are 95mm wide x 20mm thick
1 x pine lock block with is 250 x 115mm x 20mm thick
WHY ARE THE BRACING PACKS SUPPLIED LOOSE: –
They are supplied loose so the pack can be installed to the preferred way in the property or if a couple of doors are ordered in which a preferred installation direction is required. Similarly, because they prefer to choose which way to have their bracing fitted on site.
The bracing pack works together with most of our pine ledged doors.
Some customers feel the bracing packs give a more rustic/aged feel to the doors which is why they choose to install the pack. There is no structural reason why you would need to install this product.
WHY WOULD I NEED A LOCK BLOCK?
Lock blocks are generally used in connection with door handles. For instance, we sell the Suffolk latch in the beeswax sets which works perfectly in connection with them.
The use of a pine lock block prevents you from having to cut into an architrave set and/or door frame. Some would just prefer the look of a lock block.
INFORMATION REGARDING THE SPECIES OF TIMBER USED.
We make the bracing packs with Scandinavian Pine. The timber used is a rustic grade pine meaning that knots/splits, cracks & colour variation can be present within the boards.
HOW DO I INSTALL THE PINE LOOSE BRACING PACK?
The advice that we give is to glue and pin the pine lock block. We have attached some installation instructions to help you out if needed.
