All of our solid oak flooring is supplied in a range of 1.2-2.4m lengths.
This flooring is offered in rustic grade. Rustic will look superb in period properties and renovations. Boards will feature knots and some surface features which are filled to create a super smooth finish.
Each board has a microbevel to all 4 sides create a striking floor as well as helping to hide any surear.face inconsistency in the subfloor.
Heritage solid oak flooring is available in only 20mm thick board options. The benefit of 20mm flooring is that it can be laid direct to the joists as a structural floor. Our flooring is not end-matched (Tongue and Grooved only on the 2 x longer sides) so where boards are joined on the ends, this must be over a joist.
All of the boards are solid oak right through so they can be resanded if desired as many times as needed.
Timber Grades
Essentials is offered in rustic grade oak.
Rustic boards will contain knots and other surface character and these where necessary will be filled flush and sanded to create an even smooth surface to the board. Wherever possible we will leave these unfilled to add to the natural character of the board. Unfinished boards may require light localized sanding around knots before finishing.
Options
Solid oak flooring is available in 20mm thick boards. 20mm boards if desired can be laid direct to joists as a structural flooring. For normal 400mm joist centres, the end tongue and groove means that the joint does not need to finish over a joist.
20mm solid oak flooring can also be used to overlay an existing floor if desired
Finishing
Natural flooring is supplied unfinished ready for you to finish on site.Light local sanding can sometimes be required around knots but in most areas the boards are ready for finishing.
