In our Sheffield factory, we manufacture this Mexicano Glazed door to your exact dimensions in a choice of either 44mm or 56mm thickness. All doors can be purchased with a range of options, up to a fully finished doorset with all hardware pre-fitted and and prefinishing completed in the factory.
The central section of the Mexicano Glazed door is manufactured with grooves to create a look similar to a very popular 5 panel Mexicano style. For external doors these grooves feature radiused edges so that we can apply finishes to the correctly specified thickness. This would be impossible with sharp edges.
Our Mexicano glazed door looks the same on both sides and is an extremely heavy and substantial exterior door. Our state of the art 5 axis machining centre (equipped with the latest tooling) accurately machines each component. This allows us to to produce an exceptional quality door made to BS644 standards.
These Mexicano glazed doors come with clear double glazed units prefitted into a glazed shape opening with solid beading.
44mm doors have a 14mm thick unit whilst 56mm doors feature a 24mm unit. All glass is toughened for safety.
Contact us for other glass options such as frosted glass, bullseye or patterned glass.
Please select our high performance multi stage finish for a 5 year guarantee. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee unfinished doors for problems caused by moisture ingress as we cannot control the quality of finish. This is a crucial element in the performance of your door. When you choose our pre-finishing service your door will undergo an extensive multistage process that results in a finish that cannot be replicated by on site finishing
Your new Mexicano Glazed door will be finished where appropriate in component form. This means that all surfaces of the door are thoroughly sealed, even those that are hidden once the door is assembled. For doorsets, all hardware is fitted. It is then removed to ensure that all areas underneath hardware receive the same thorough finish.
If you choose to have your door unfinished, when you receive the door it should be checked for fit. We cannot overstate how important it is to properly finish timber external doors to provide satisfactory service. All timber will expand and contract as it gains and loses moisture. That’s why your door can take on moisture and expand in winter weather. Thoroughly finishing the door will slow this movement to a minimum.
It is extremely common to find timber doors that have not been finished properly. Almost always, it is in difficult to reach places such as underneath the door. Even with thorough finishing often timber doors can require minor planing in the first couple of seasons. You should always follow a good maintenance programme with oak exterior doors, refinishing them as necessary.

Guarantees are offered based on correct installation, finishing and maintenance procedures. Guarantees may be withdrawn where appropriate in instances where correct procedures have not been followed.
Doors must be fitted in an appropriate location. For coastal or areas where high wind load/wind driven rain are expected, Accoya should be fitted. In adverse locations, solid timber doors can degrade at an accelerated rate. this is not a manufacturing defect. Oak doors should always be fitted under a porch or canopy that prevents regular exposure to rain. Where this is not possible then Accoya should always be specified and fitted.
Solid oak doors that are supplied unfinished are not covered under our guarantee.

All of our external doors include made to measure as standard. You can specify any size up to 950 x 2100mm for the fixed price shown. If you need a larger door then no problem. Just give our team a call and we can quote for you. For doorsets you can choose any brickwork opening size up to 1032 x 2182, again quotes are available for larger sizes.
As your new oak door is custom made, and cannot be returned/refunded once manufactured so please check your measurements carefully. We will confirm them back to you once you have let us know in an order confirmation so we both have a clear understanding of the size required. For seperate doors, its not a bad idea to specify the door a few mm oversize and plane it to fit on site, as door frames are often not completely square.
Do not do this with doorsets! With doorsets its typically better to specify the outer dimension of the frame a few mm undersize. Again this is because your brickwork opening is unlikely to be perfectly square. It is easier to allow a few mm then position the frame using packers in the opening.
When you order a door/doorset, you will receive a dimensioned drawing for you to approve, prior to your new door going into production.
4mm Doorsets
These doors come fitted with an insurance approved 5 lever mortice lock, handle and 3 hinges. You can choose to upgrade this to a night latch system including an insurance approved ERA nightlatch for the top and an additional dead bolt for the bottom for extra security. The bottom lock features an internal thumbturn eurolock cylinder for ease of use.
44mm doors are fitted into a frame with 3 high quality hinges that are adjustable in all 3 dimensions. The frame is fitted with a quality weather seal and the cill is prefitted with an aluminium threshold with rubber sealing strip. All doorset doors are supplied with a timber weather bar.
56mm Doorsets
These are our finest doors. They feel significantly heavier and more robust in use and come equipped as standard with a host of additional features. Probably the most significant is the multi point locking systems, chosen for maximum security! You can pick from either a lever handle system or a high level system that replicates the look of a nightlatch style installation with a finger pull to the outside of the door.
We only use Gretsch Unitas German multipoint locks that are specifically designed for timber doors. These locks feature a "slam shut" mechanism so that you do not have to lift the handle to lock the door. Mid level locks feature three deadlocks whilst high level locks use 4 deadlocks. The deadlocks automatically deploy, engaging as you shut the door.
The multipoint lock mechanisms are fitted with a superb quality euro cylinder lock and will be supplied with 3 keys. The door lock keeps are pre-fitted to the frame and feature a simple cam style adjustment which can be used in conjunction with the 3D adjustable hinges to fine tune the doors fit. 56mm doors feature traditional mortice and tenon joints and come with a drip groove and chamfer machined into the door itself to provide even more weather protection.
Check out our colour option for each timber, or if you'd like a specific colour, just send us your paint code!
We use Teknos industrial finishing products for exterior products which are applied with an airless high pressure spray system. Each coat is dried in a UV drying booth with air filtered to ensure no impurities are trapped in the finish.
Please note - we do not guarantee doors which are supplied unfinished
